BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Pres. Rodrigo Duterte recently signed into law Republic Act 11020, An Act Establishing a National Science High School in Barangay Bagumbayan, Balanga City, Province of Bataan to be known as Balanga City National Science High School, authored by Congressman Jose Enrique Garcia III of the 2nd congressional district of Bataan,
Once established, it will be under the Supervision of the Department of Education (DepEd) who in turn shall immediately include it in the department’s program, the operationalization and funding of which shall now be included in the Annual General Appropriations Act.
The DepEd is also in charge in the formulation of implementing rules and regulations (IRR) on the provisions of the Act within 120 days after its effectivity.
The Congress and the Senate approved the bill filed by Congressman Joet Garcia on Oct. 9, 2017 and Feb. 19, 2018 respectively and duly signed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte last May 25, 2018.
The Balanga City National Science High School, according to Cong. Joet Garcia will just be like any other national science high school that admits and grants scholarship to students who are gifted in science and mathematics without going to Manila.
