MORONG, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) thru the Provincial Veterinarian Office (PVO), brought a number of livelihood projects such as Organic Chicken Seminar and Meat Processing Demo to the indigenous people (IP) at Sitio Kanawan, Brgy. Binaritan, this town, last March 24.
PVO Department Head, Dr. Alberto S. Venturina, graced the event. “Kahit mahirap akyatin yung lugar ninyo, pupuntahan at babalik-balikan namin kayo. Dahil mahal kayo Ni Gov. Abet, mahal namin kayo”, he stressed in his opening remarks. On the other hand, Tribal Council Head Mr. Joseph Salonga expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the PGB for making them feel an important members of the community, of the province.
Provincial Livestock Inspector II Mr. Louie Tripon discussed the importance of taking good care of the organic chicken and teaching the IP how to start a small business on organic chicken. Meanwhile, Animal Products and By-Products Utilization Provincial Coordinator Mrs. Trinidad G. Tallorin conducted a hands-on demo on meat processing such as longganisa, tocino and hamburger patty making.
Mrs. Tallorin encouraged the IP to use the knowledge they acquired in the seminar by engaging in a business venture so that they will have a stable source of income.
