BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Second District Representative Jose Enrique “Joet” S. Garcia III recently invited the local press here for a news briefing on the recent House Bills he filed at the House of Representatives.
Congressman Garcia is presently the House Assistant Majority Leader on Rules; Vice Chairperson of House Committee on Energy and the House Committee of Health. He is also a member of various House committees such as the Committee of Appropriations; Basic Education and Culture; Economic Affairs; Higher and Technical Educations; Housing and Urban Development; Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development; Tourism; Travel and Industry; and Ways and Means.
The House Bills that Garcia filed are as follows:
HB No.1418 – An Act creating the Metro Bataan Development Authority, defining its powers and functions providing funds therefor and for other purposes. (Filed July 12, 2016).
HB No. 1419 – An Act creating the Manila Bay Development Authority, prescribing its powers, functions, and duties, providing funds therefor, and for other purposes. (Filed July 12, 2016).
HB No. 2043 – An Act upgrading the Bataan Provincial Hospital in the Province of Bataan into a level III teaching and training tertiary hospital, renaming the same as Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center, amending for the purpose Republic Act No. 8561, and appropriating finds therefor. (Filed July 27, 2016).
HB No. 4106 – An Act further strengthening the powers and functions of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), amending for this purpose Republic Act 9728, otherwise known as “Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) Act of 2009. (Filed October 13, 2016).
HB No. 1419– Resolution urging the Department of Finance, the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to revisit and review the manner of computing the share of the local government units in the national internal revenue taxes pursuant to Section284 of the Local Government Code. HB No. 260 – Resolution calling for an inquiry on the implementation of Section33 of RA 9211 otherwise known as the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003. (Filed August 22, 2016).
HB No. 3100 – An Act exempting from taxation information technology (IT) hardware donations from PEZA registered companies in the outsourcing industry for the benefit of public educational institutions. (Filed August 17, 2016).
HB No. 4463 – An Act creating the Bataan High School for the Arts and appropriating funds therefor. (Filed August 17, 2016).
HB No. 4462 – An Act converting the Government Arsenal located at Camp Gen. Antonio Luna, Lamao, Municipality of Limay, Province of Bataan into and creating and establishing the Special Economic Defense Zone (SpEDZ), creating the for this purpose the Special Econimic Defense Zone Authority (SpEDZA), appropriating funds therefor and for other pusposes. Meanwhile, Cong.
