Rep. Nisay Pushes for Lower PhilHealth Contributions, Wider Benefits

Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay has urged PhilHealth to review its policies and provide members with more affordable contributions while expanding benefits. He noted that many Filipinos continue to struggle with healthcare costs, stressing the need for reforms that make medical services both accessible and sustainable.

Nisay clarified that his call is not for zero appropriations but for fair and humane policies that listen to the people’s needs. He emphasized that universal health care should guarantee quality services for all without putting an undue burden on ordinary citizens.

Among his proposals are a “Members’ Contribution Holiday” every December or for longer periods, as well as lower contribution rates paired with expanded benefit packages. He said these changes will ensure that public funds are maximized for the welfare of Filipinos, true to the principle that government resources are for the people.
