Rivero storms the racing cup!

CAPITOL COMPOUND, Bataan Mr. Joey “Storm” Rivero, paid Gov. Abet S. Garcia a courtesy call in his Office at the Bulwagan ng Bayan, this City to present some of his achievements in racing and to express his gratitude to the governor and to his fellow Bataeños for all the support extended to him in his riding career.

A native of Limay, Rivero started riding here in Bataan in connection to his former jobs as Chief of Capitol Security and Intelligence Unit (CSIU), Chief Marshall of Balanga City, Public Safety Officer of Mariveles, and staff of Gov. Abet during the latter’s stint as Congressman of the 2nd District of Bataan.

In pursuit of his passion for riding especially big bikes, Joey took up Superbike Training and his efforts paid off. He is now a Factory Rider of Team Kawasaki Philippines competing in the 1000cc Superbike races in the country.

Some of his achievements are the following: he dominated the Inside Racing Cup, Backbone 180cc Open Class at the Carmona Race Track, last July 13, 2014; he finished 4th in the premier class in the recent Pirelli Superbike Championships held at the Clark International Speedway at Clark Field Pampanga last August 3, 2014; he landed number one at the 5th leg of the Philippine Superbike Championship Weekend.

Recently, Joey received the Golden Wheel Award, the highest award given in recognition of his achievements in motorsports in the country. Rivero qualified for such prestigious award for winning the 2014 180cc open backbone class in roadracing at the IR Cup.

Keep it up, Joey! Keep on storming the racing cup. Your fellow Bataeños are proud of you.
