DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Almost 6,000 residents mostly senior citizens and poor folks from this municipality and the rest of the province’s 1st congressional district received prescription glasses from Congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman’s recent first optical mission.

In an interview with the press, Roman said the project with 5,810 recipients was done through the help of her friends from the Volunteers Against Poverty Foundation Perlinian Group with 20 doctors and staff armed with modern equipment who participated in the consultation, prescription and distribution of free prescription eyeglasses.

“Kakaiba po itong optical mission na ito.Talagang sinukatan kami ng tamang grado ng aming mata at nabigyan pa kami ng libreng salamin. Napakamahal po magpagawa ng salamin kaya’t malaki ang pasasalamat namin kay Congresswoman Geraldine  Roman,” Alberto S. Mallari, a beneficiary from the town of Hermosa, told this reporter.

Meanwhile, Roman added that 215 inmates from the Bataan District Jail in Balanga City being managed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) also benefitted from the said optical mission.
