BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The free ride, dubbed as Sakay Alalay for commuters mostly students in the affected coastal barangay not only alleviated their plight but also brought out the best in them- for it made the commuters more disciplined.

‘Sakay Alalay’, sponsored by Sen. Sonny Angara is given to residents in the following barangays: Lote, Pto. Rivas Itaas, Pto. Rivas Ibaba, and Tortugas. According to one of the students from Tomas Del Rosario College, having this kind of program especially for students is very helpful and convenient. Tarpaulins of scheduled trips are posted in each barangay pick up point.

Positive feedback are coming through because of the free transportation. A lot of Balangueños also noticed that the commuters became more disciplined in availing the ‘Sakay Alalay.’ Everyone patiently waits for their turn. Students, Senior Citizens, Pregnant women, & PWDs are prioritized in this program.

According to one of the beneficiaries of free transportation, they hope that even without this program Balangueños will continue to be more disciplined in our daily transportation.

To date, ‘Sakay Alalay’ is still operating and gaining more positive feedback from commuters and observers alike. For more information you can reach the City Licensing Permit & Franchising Office (CLPFO) through this number 613-6128 or visit your local barangay unit.
