BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Two hundred armchairs with 20 left-handed armchairs, four teacher’s desk sets, 16 wall fans, eight blackboards, four wall clocks, and four toilets.
These are the equipment and facilities available in the two-storey, four-classroom school building turned over this morning by the SM Prime Foundation to Balanga Elementary School in the presence of City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia.
The school building will be used by grade six pupils from Barangay Talisay, Barangay Bagumbayan and other adjacent villages.
Historical records show that Balanga Elementary School is one of the pioneer schools in which dates back since 1876. In 1611, the first makeshift building was built during the term of Mariano Rosauro, provincial governor, and Amado de Leon, then the municipal mayor, in the present site.
Balanga Elementary School became Balanga Integrated School upon the formal opening of the secondary level on July 2006.
