The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ng Bataan recently concurred an Ordinance instituting and implementing the registration of ownership of agricultural and fisheries machinery/equipment in accordance with the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-02 by the Dept. of Agriculture and the Dept. of the Interior and Local Govt relative to the national guidelines within the territorial jurisdiction of Balanga City, sponsored by Board Member Benjie Serrano, Committee on Agriculture, Food and Fisheries chairman.
Said ordinance according to BM Serrano shall cover a one-time registration of ownership of both new and currently used agricultural and fisheries equipment by an individual-owner, registered-farmer cooperative, farmer association and private entities in the City of Balanga, which will ensure the quality and safety of agri-fisheries machinery and equipment as well as national planning and programming of government investment and resources.
BM Serrano also said that aside from the fact that the purpose of said joint memorandum circular is to create a national database of machinery and equipment for planning and monitoring as per RA no. 10601, said registration can also be used in the availment of government incentives/subsidies, can be used as loan collaterals, facilitate location of lost agricultural and fisheries machinery units, availment of common service facilities in the city and insurance for all registered agricultural and fishery equipment.
