CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – “It may be a simple celebration for us but for the star scouts who are here, it is a memorable event to be with their mothers in this event,” said Commissioner of Program, Nori Canare during the Day Camp Holiday for Mother and Daughter culminating activity for the Girl Scouts of Bataan and the celebration of 65th anniversary of the Girls Scout of the Philippines Council held last Saturday, October 6 at the Bataan People’s Center.
Six municipalities participated in the said event whose main goal is to strengthen the mother and daughter relationship.
Activities such as arts and craft, as well as dance routine are also done by the facilitators from Cabcaben Elementary School. Teachers present in the event were given a simple token for the celebration of Teachers’ Day.
Aside from the Mother and Daughter activity and the 65th anniversary of the Girl Scout of the Philippines, they also paid tribute to the woman behind the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Josefa Llanes Escoda, who said to have September 20 as Escoda Day. Roses and donations are given during the Escoda ceremony.
