As part of the upcoming Pawikan Festival, the Bataan Tourism Office headed by Ms. Alice Pizarro, in cooperation with DepEd Bataan and Balanga City, held the Pawikan Quiz Bee for elementary and secondary students at the Emiliana Hall this morning, November 25.

“The objective of the event is to instill among the younger generation the importance of pawikan conservation. We are so lucky here in Bataan that we have the 5 species of turtles found in the world which indicate that we have a healthy marine ecosystem,” said Ms. Pizarro in her opening message.

A total of 32 registrants from the different municipalities and lone city of the province competed in the elementary level, while 38 registrants are expected to join the secondary level in the afternoon.
Winners will receive PhP 1,500 for the first prize, Php 1,000 for the second prize, and PhP 500 for the third prize. A 300-peso cash prize will be given to nonwinners as consolation prizes.
