THE REGULAR trips of ferry boats plying Manila-Bataan route being operated by the 1Bataan Integrated Transport System will be temporarily disrupted by President Duterte’s announcement of creating “community quarantine.”
Joseph Loyola, administrative head of 1Bataan Integrated Transport System, said starting Saturday, March 14, ferry operations will be temporarily halted but will be back in operation second week of April.
Under fine weather and normal situation the ferry boat accommodates 150 to 200 passengers per trip. It takes three rounds of trips per day. About 40 percent of its passengers are employees from the Freeport Area of Bataan and Mariveles town who are always on the go racing with schedules in the southern part of Manila.
Loyola said another terminal will be put up in Mariveles port to accommodate passengers in that area.
