CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Anchored on the theme “Isulong, Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Lahat ng Bata”, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) successfully held this year’s Provincial Children’s Congress at the Crown Royale Hotel yesterday, November 16.
In her welcome remarks, PSWDO head, Mrs. Marilyn C. Tigas emphasized among the parents, children, child development workers, municipal social welfare officers and other stakeholers present the more important reason for this annual activity. “Ginagawa natin ito para ma-showcase ang mga skills at talents ng mga bata at para rin ma- improve ang kanilang tiwala sa sarili”. She added that the congress aims to inculcate positivity; that competitions should be healthy, and not focused on the reward or the prizes. In the end, she acknowledged the efforts of the Samahang Day Care Workers ng Bataan (SDCWB) who spearheaded the event.
A total of 794 participants from the eleven municipalities attended the congress. To showcase their talents, the preschoolers gamely participated in calisthenics, solo singing, poem recitation and copy and color.
“Proud na proud kami sa aming mga mag-aaral dahil naipakita nila ang kanilang galing at na- boost yung kanilang self-confidence,” said Ms. Minerva Baltazar, Child Development Worker from Orani and Federation president.
