Tigas receives regional excellence award

In line with the 2019 celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week (EFW) with the theme “Healthy and Productive Aging Starts with Me”, Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) Head Marilyn Tigas received a service excellence award in recognition of her unwavering dedication and support for the welfare of the Senior Citizens in Region III held at Heroes Hall, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, yesterday, October 1.

The week-long celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week started on October 1 with the conduct of Walk for Life as the kick off activity which was participated by 600 senior citizens from 7 provinces. Municipal Federation Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (MFSCAP) Samal President Mrs. Gloria Calara received the award in behalf of PSWD Officer Marilyn Tigas together with Bataan Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (BFSCAP) President Mr. Roberto Mateo who also received an award for being the Auditor of the Federation of Senior Citizen Association of the Philippines (FSCAP).

The elderly Filipino week celebration is a yearly activity initiated and participated by the Inter-Agency Regional Coordinating and Monitoring Board (RCMB) implementing the provision of Republic Act No. 9994.
