ABUCAY, Bataan – Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia has urged local residents to help their relatives find good-paying jobs at the sprawling Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).
Speaking before a group of parents and municipal employees during the ground breaking ceremonies for the construction of the new Abucay municipal hall on Saturday (Dec. 8), Ms. Garcia said there are numerous job openings in FAB enterprises and nearby factories.
Reports said some locators import job applicants from nearby provinces to fill up vacancies in key factories in FAB.
The lady vice governor cited the Philippine Daily Inquirer report that Bataan indeed has the lowest poverty incidence (at 1.6 percent) in the whole country.
“Let us help our province mates to land jobs in FAB which had been looking for more qualified people to work in factories here,” admonishes Garcia.
She presented a scenario where there was only one breadwinner in a family in Mariveles or elsewhere in the province. “Now there are already four or five breadwinners in a family,” Cris pointed out.
