Vice Gov. Cris Garcia takes oath as LVGP President

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath-taking of the new set of officers of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) headed by its president, Bataan Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, in a ceremony held on September 30 at the Malacañang.

 

VG Garcia was elected during the LVGP national elections on July 18 at The Manila Hotel, where vice governors from across the country convened to choose their new leaders. As president, she will lead the league in pushing for reforms that will elevate the role of provincial boards in shaping local development, while also building national and international linkages to advance the interests of local governments.

 

Other members of the LVGP who also took their oaths include South Cotabato VG Arthur Pingoy Jr. as Executive Vice President; Pangasinan VG Mark Ronald Lambino as Vice President for Luzon; Capiz VG Jaime Magbanua as Vice President for Visayas; Bukidnon VG Clive Quiño as Vice President for Mindanao; Surigao del Norte VG Eddie Gokiangkee Jr. as Secretary-General; Eastern Samar VG Maria Caridas Sison-Goteesan as Treasurer; Southern Leyte VG Rosa Emilia Mercado as Auditor; and Sorsogon VG Krunimar Antonio Escudero II as Public Relations Officer.

 

VG Garcia expressed gratitude to President Marcos, as well as to Governor Joet Garcia and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan, for their trust and support as she affirmed her commitment to strengthen the LVGP that will work closely with both local government units and the national administration in advancing development and good governance across the country.
