BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In the aftermath of Typhoon Josie, streets in several of Bataan were covered with thick mud and many people are unable to go back to attend to their livelihood.
Faced with this predicament, relief goods were immediately dispatched for distribution to the affected residents in different municipalities of the province.
Relief goods are not just from the Provincial Government of Bataan, there are also private sectors who extended their help. Free medicines were also distributed especially for those who may suffer leptospirosis and other diseases.
Each municipality is also doing its best to help the affected families in their areas. According to an affected resident from the Municipality of Pilar, they can’t explain how they would feel when everyone is trying their best just to help them. “I barely know some of them, especially those who are helping to get rid of the thick mud in our barangay but the moment they helped us, I knew that we are not alone in this incident.” she added.
Private companies provided the necessary equipment to clear the thick mud in the streets. Likewise, residents willingly extended their help to their neighbors by lending any tools and equipment they have that others may need.
Bataeños are surely acted as one during the good times and will always be as one even on times like this.
Tropical Josie maybe strong seeing what if left to us, but Bataeños are even stronger than that.
