As an incentive for completing their 10-Year Barangay Development Masterplan, 17 barangays in the province received service vehicles each from the Provincial Government of Bataan.
Governor Abet Garcia, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, 2nd District Representative Joet Garcia and Provincial Planning and Development Office Head Engr. Butch Baluyot led the turnover ceremony held Wednesday, November 11, at the Bataan Tourism Center.
According to Gov. Garcia, the new vehicles will help the barangay officials in the swift delivery of public services to their constituents especially during this time of the pandemic and for emergency and official purposes.
Beneficiaries include the barangays of Puerto Rivas Ibaba, Doña Francisca, Poblacion, Bagumbayan, and Talisay in Balanga City; Capunitan, Sabatan, Daang Bago, Camachile, and Arellano in Orion; Wakas South in Pilar; San Antonio and Saysain in Bagac; and Alas-asin, Cabcaben, Alion and Batangas II in Mariveles.
For his part, Cong. Joet Garcia stressed that proper planning in the barangay level serves as the foundation of the municipal or city development plan which includes disaster or crisis preparedness.
A total of 54 service vehicles have been awarded and funded from the Local Government Support Fund, while another 15 vehicles are set to be distributed before the end of the year.
