With the revitalized Orion Municipal Tourism Council (OMTC) at the helm, Paskuhan sa Udyong 2013 was formally opened on December 15 the town’s Liwasang Balagtas. A very simple program preceded the highlight of the night’s activity which was the lighting of the giant Christmas tree at the middle of the plaza. The angelic voices of the OES Children’s Choir, with Mr. Jeffrey F. Ofrecio conducting, did its version of “Payapang Daigdig” and “Kumukuti-kutitap.”
The Honorable Mayor, Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr., in his simple message extolled the OMTC, through its Chairperson, Mrs. Lilia R. Raymundo, for coming up with Christmas activities which will truly entertain the people. He likewise extended his greeting to the people and encouraged them to share their Christmas time with the family and the down trodden. The crowd then joined the mayor and the OMTC in the countdown before the 30-foot Christmas Tree was lighted and enjoyed the five-minute fireworks display at the loft of the parish church.

In an unprecedented event, DepED Bataan ranked second over all the other provincial delegations in the 2013 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet held at Zambales Sports Complex, Iba, Zambales from December 8-13, 2013.
The four hundred strong delegation, headed by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Tarcila P. Javier, together with OIC-ASDS Dr. Carolina S. Violeta and EPS-I MAPEH, Mr. Ramon C. Perez, scored a total of 291.75 points in all the awards garnered by its athletes which led to placing second in the fin al rank. The elementary athletes earned a total of 143.34 while the secondary level athletes earned a total of 148.41. Although still a far cry from the 540.33 points earned by the leading division, Bulacan, DepED-Bataan made waved by consistently improving its rank over the years. From 4th place in 2012 to ranking third in CLRAA (Summer 2013) and now, with merely eight months in between, Bataan has carved its niche at CLRAA Meet.
