Businessmen sponsor Plaza Mayor’s Interactive Fountain & Christmas Lights

BALANGA CITY, Bataan- At no cost to the city government, Bataan businessmen led by former Senator Manny Villar, Consul Ed de Guzman, Mr. Jerry Acuzar & Mr. Eusebio Aquino sponsored collectively  the “2013 Christmas decorations including the 48-jet interactive fountain at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga,” newsmen based here learned yesterday.

 The Switch-On and blessing ceremony of the  Christmas Lights, Interactive Fountain & Public Libary was witnessed by thousands of Balangeπos, visitors and local newsmen who expressed admiration over the unique  and unequalled lighting of Christmas lights in the City Plaza.

“A group of businessmen supportive to the city have actually the one who shouldered the Interactive fountain and Christmas lights,” confirmed Mayor Joet S. Garcia.

Owing to its very successful public-private partnership projects such as the Galeria Victoria, a fully-air-conditioned shopping mall owned by billionaire Jerry Acuzar;  the Center Mall, owned by Consul de Guzman, & Plaza de San Jose, Balanga City witnessed the complete transformation of the city center into a “Place like no other”, as envisioned in the 5-year redevelopment plan designed by world renowned Arch. Jun Palafox and the local chapter members of the United Architects of the Philippines.

  Adorned with uniformed and simple, yet elegant Christmas decorations, sparkling lights, magnificent 48-jet fountain, child-friendly playground and kiddie trains, the new City Plaza serves its true purpose to be the center for cultural, educational and health activities in the city, proudly reported mayor Garcia.

Fr. Abe Pantig & Fr. Regie Hizon led the blessing of the modern City Library to complement leisure with learning as articulated in the City’s vision to be a World Class University Town by the year 2020.
