ORANI, Bataan -To promote a healthy life style, Gov. Abet S. Garcia proposed Thursday that a jogging lane be allotted for the public.
During Thursday’s Peace and Order Council (POC) meeting held inside the One Bataan command center here, Gov. Garcia cited his recent observation in Bogota, Colombia where a portion of its busy road was being closed during holidays and converted as jogging area for its people.
The governor, who presided over the POC meeting, asked Charlie Pizarro, General Manager of Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA), to study his proposal if one lane of the Roman highway can be converted into a jogging lane, provided he stressed, it will not affect the smooth flow of traffic.
He also lauded the MBDA personnel for playing a major role in protecting motorists along the strategic and busy Roman expressway.
The MBDA, composed of personnel hired by the provincial government, are equipped with high-tech frequency hand-held radios and a fleet of vehicles that patrol along said expressway from Balsik in Hermosa, all the way to the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Mariveles.
