Bataan gears up for Pawikan Festival 2017

MORONG, Bataan – In preparation for the annual Pawikan Festival celebration that aims to raise public awareness on the importance of marine turtles in our ecosystem, the Provincial Tourism Office conducted an inter-agency meeting yesterday, October 23, 2017, at Morong Municipal Hall.

Said meeting aims to establish the working committees needed in the said event and to review the line-up of activities for the celebration.

The working committee is chaired by Ms. Victoria Garcia, Dra. Cynthia Estanislao (Co-Chairman), Ms. Christina Banzon-Enriquez (Over-all Director), committees on the over-all program and activities, physical logistics, security and crowd control, medical rescue and emergency response, media and guests, promotion and invitation, documentation, and food.

Activities for the festival include walk for a cause, Zumba, Galing Bataan trade fair – BAFNOFMAI and DTI, photo contest, opening program and ceremonial releasing of hatchlings, festival dance competition, sand sculpture contest, environmental fair, paddle painting contest, creative forum, sunset releasing of hatchlings, and beach concert.

The Pawikan Festival is set to be celebrated on November 25, 2017 at the Pawikan Conservation Center, Nagbalayong, Morong. See you there!
