PSA Bataan celebrates National Statistics Month

PILAR, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Office celebrates the 28th National Statistics Month this month of October pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 by conducting lecture series and research presentations.

Chief Statistical Specialist Ledesma L. Morante wishes to spread the message of this year’s theme Facts and Figures for the Future: Statistics for evidence-based Decision towards Ambisyon Natin 2040 by organizing several activities.

PSA staff and other sectors gathered at the Material Recovery Facilty at Brgy. Sta Rosa, this town for the Solid Waste Management Seminar and Opening Ceremony last October 9, 2017.

The speakers for that day were Barangay Chairman Jose De Leon of Sta. Rosa and Local Government Unit of Pilar staff Edzel Hernandez and Joycil Perez.

To create awareness, PSA also held a month-long exhibit at the PSA Batch Requests Entry System outlet at the Bataan Government Center, which showcased the different services offered by PSA.

The NSM aims to: a) promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society: and b) elicit cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standard of statistics in the country.

The Philippine Statistics Authority is the major statistical agency responsible in collecting, compiling, classifying, producing, publishing, and disseminating general-purpose statistics as provided for in Republic Act 10625. PSA’s function includes preparation and conduct of statistical survey on all aspects of socio economic life including agriculture, industry, trade, finance, prices and marketing information, income and expenditure, education, health, culture and social situations as well as the government and the political sector for the use of the government and the public.
