OWD to celebrate anniversary with run for a cause on Feb 17

ORANI, Bataan – The Orani Water District (OWD) will celebrate its 18th year anniversary with an annual run for a cause on February 17.

The fund to be raised will be used for OWD’s reforestation project in the upland Tala watershed area.

Andres said they have been holding the run for the last 18 years in celebration of their anniversary although the planting of trees in the watershed area was started seven years ago.

He said they already planted 60,000 tibig trees for the past six years, and will plant another 10,000 this year.

He said that their reforestation effort at the Tala watershed area aims to preserve the aquifers under it, the source of potable water they distribute to businesses and households in Orani and nearby areas.
