Anchored on the theme, “Enabling Scientific Platforms for Sustainable Agro-Industrial Development in ASEAN Integration”, the Bataan Peninsula State University, in partnership with the Philippine Association of Agriculturists Central Luzon Tamarind Chapter held the 2nd National Conference on Food, Environment, Engineering and Technology (NCFEET) yesterday, October 24 at Crown Royale Hotel, Balanga City.
In his message, Gov. Abet Garcia said that Bataan wants to cultivate this undertaking, which aims to facilitate discussion on the challenges and emerging issues on food security through resource management and production systems. “You see, we’re positioning Bataan as an innovation hub at marami po kaming initiatives towards that goal kaya ito po ay isa sa initiatives,” Governor Garcia added.
Attended by 216 delegates from different state universities and colleges (SUCs) from all over the country, keynote speakers Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Dr. Renato Solidum Jr. and Department of Agriculture Representative Dr. Arthur Dayrit underscored innovations and development in agriculture through science and technology.
Part of the 3-day conference is a tour of Bataan on October 26.
