The continuous improvement of eco-tourism facilities, historical and cultural sites including the establishment of shopping malls, commercial and food service –oriented projects have resulted to more tourist arrivals in the component city, says Norlie C. Castro, technical adviser on tourism operations of Balanga City.
Based on previous records or actual data of tourist arrivals in the past three years, Castro enumerated the classic example of robust travel and tourism industry.
Citing growth in tourist arrivals, Mr. Castro said registered number of visitors, both local and foreign, are 245,319 in 2016; 251,692 in 2017 and 260,530 in 2018. For this year, the tourism office is expecting 4 percent increase in tourist arrivals with the opening of shopping centers and agro tourism sites, development of the Balanga City Wetland and Nature Park, the country’s leading bird-watching site,Tanato Picnic grove and river resort, agro tourism in the upland sections of the City and historical and cultural structures.
