Among the highly qualified and respected resource persons were Dir. Ronnie Tiotuico of DOT Region III, Ms. Moje Ramos – Aquino, Owner of Present and Future Training Services and a writer in a weekly entrepreneurship column, Learning and Innovation for The Manila Times Business Section and Mr. Bien Claravall, Senior Lecturer at the University of the Philippines, Asian Institute of Tourism and author of the textbook Travel Management and Tour Operations in the Philippines. Topics discussed were Overview of The Philippine Tourism Industry and Current Issues, Values Formation, Effective Customer Service, Role of Reception Officers, Local Guide – Role and Responsibilities, Tour Script Preparation and Presentation Techniques, Elements of Tour Guiding and Ten Commandments of Tour Guiding.
During the workshop, the commentary presentation and the application of techniques where the participants underwent a mock tour at the Shrine of Valor, Flaming Sword in Pilar, Plaza Mayor de Balanga, St. Joseph Cathedral and the Bataan Tourism Center. A critique of workshop outputs and evaluation were likewise done, prior to the closing ceremonies wherein various awards were given to the participants who are now equipped with the necessary skills and techniques to give quality reception and guiding service to would be tourists of Bataan.
