With the theme Responsible Parenthood, Dra. Jehan Jao, guest speaker from the Department of Health (DOH) Region III spoke on Family Planning and Maternal Child Health and Nutrition. She stressed the responsibility of every woman and member of the family in the preparation for child birth and in upholding the life of the newborn. “Family values and open communication must be practiced as well.
Members of the family should be involved in the sake of the family’s wellness. Being a responsible and wise individual is a major factor in family planning and maternal child health care” added Ms. Jao.
Other equally important points discussed during the seminar were the government’s serious efforts in creating awareness and advocacy campaigns regarding prohibition of drugs more especially during pregnancy, and NO to abortion.
