Mariveles, Gawad KALASAG 2025 Awardee

The Municipality of Mariveles was recognized as a Gawad KALASAG 2025 awardee by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Region III during a ceremony held on December 5, 2025, at the Laus Event Centre in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The award highlights the town’s continued efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience.

Mariveles earned a 2.16 rating in the Gawad KALASAG assessment, reflecting its effective implementation of programs focused on disaster prevention, preparedness, and responsive action during emergencies. The rating serves as a testament to the local government’s commitment to safeguarding its communities against various hazards.

MDRRMO Operations Staff Clarenz Delos Reyes personally accepted the award on behalf of the Municipal Government of Mariveles. He was joined by Bataan Board Member Popoy Del Rosario, who represented the province during the awarding rites.

Local officials led by Mayor AJ Concepcion, Vice Mayor Jesse Concepcion, and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan expressed gratitude to the MDRRMO team, partner agencies, frontliners, volunteers, and barangay personnel for their continuous commitment to disaster risk reduction and management.

The municipal government reaffirmed its dedication to building a safe, prepared, and resilient Mariveles, emphasizing that the recognition further motivates them to strengthen initiatives that protect lives, property, and community welfare.
