Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR R3) experts visited last week a group of fishermen in Mariveles to find out what the agency can do to help them improve their catch and other valuable fishing tips.
The BFAR visit is part of the agency’s scoping and validation for the Livelihood and Enterprise Grants under the FishCore project aimed at helping fishermen improve their lot through financial grants.
The team of fishery experts met with various fishermen association and discussed proposed projects with Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, Municipal Agriculturist Janine Torres, representatives from Bataan 3rd Congressional District, and the Office of Provincial Agriculturist.
Among those visited by BFAR team include the Samahan ng mga Mangingisda ng Poblacion/Camaya and Marcos Venture Masaganang Ani/Agriculture Cooperative.
