Techno park by the sea ushers hi-tech call center, gaming setup

MARIVELES, Bataan – From the gridlocked mesh of metropolitan Manila, high-tech call center operations and online gaming facilities are now moving seaside. Completion of the three-hectare Techno Park in Mariveles town is pinned on 2016 after the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) and Grand Innovasia Concept Corporation (GICC) broke ground recently.

Riding waves as the fastest growing freeport in the country, FAB is the only freeport in Manila Bay area and is quickly becoming an eye candy for investors who are looking to venture out of the chock-full urban. “GICC has proposed a modern high standard techno park at FAB. This modest project is designed to be landmark showcasing IT of Bataan in the entire province development,” said the leisure resort, games and amusement center-engaged company.

The Techno Park will serve as GICC’s operation center for business process outsourcing and interactive gaming activities in the country.It will also provide for the animation and set-up of internet server website; administer software development, payment system and toll free telephone operations; and supervise online/interactive gaming operations.

Governor Albert Garcia, who has been an advocate of information technology in his projects, said the Techno Park is a sign that local and international trade players are locating in areas of robust economic potential buoyed by good governance. He described the FAB as an engine of growth capable of generating thousands of jobs for the locals while providing business and tax incentives to companies. “Our graduates in Bataan now have bigger opportunity to land jobs because of the first techno park in the province,” said Garcia during the recent joint public consultation on the development of the new Bataan Capitol and Government Center.

The Techno Park will undergo a three-phase development to construct 2,000 sq. m. of office space; 8,000 sq. m. of commercial space, and 12,000 sq. m. of living space. It will be equipped with multi-purpose conference room, training center, gym, entertainment hall, food court, restaurants and outdoor amenities. There will also be standard and deluxe living spaces, laundry shop, convenient store, Internet café, canteen, salon, entertainment room and other amenities.
