Barangay Cupang Proper wins 3rd LTIA regional award

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – When it rains, it pours! This holds true for Brgy. Cupang Proper of this city when its barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Norman Guila together with Provincial and Municipal DILG officers attended the 2018 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards (LTIA) Regional Awarding to receive an Award of Excellence plaque and cash incentive for winning in the Component City Category for the third consecutive year (2016, 2017, 2018)

Gov. Albert S. Garcia himself was present in the prestigious awards giving ceremony held yesterday, September 19 at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The hardworking governor also attended the regular meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Committee which was also held on the same day in the same venue.

Lupong Tagapamayapa is an administrative body created by law to operationalize the barangay justice system better known as “Katarungang Pambarangay” (KP).

Pursuant to Section 406 (b) of the Local Government Code of 1991 the DILG is mandated to grant economic and other incentives to different Lupong Tagapamayapa for their outstanding contribution to attain the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay, hence the establishment of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA).

LTIA has three (3) major criteria, namely: Efficiency in the operations of the Lupong Tagapamayapa; Effectiveness in attaining the KP Objectives; and Creativity and Resourcefulness in the administration of KP, under four (4) categories: Highly Urbanized City, Component City, 1st-3rd class municipality and 4th-6th class municipality.

This award qualifies Cupang Proper for the national award. Keep it up!
