Budding agri-entrepreneur Carl Ernest Cunanan, hopes barangay folks in Orani will try lettuce farming as part of “Gulayan sa Barangay” program.
His aspiration came about when he donated some of his harvested lettuce to Brgy. Puksuan officials led by Punong Barangay Rodolfo De Guzman.
The young farmer said he wishes barangay officials to do hydrophonics lettuce farming.
Hydroponics is the technique of growing plants using a water-based nutrient solution rather than soil.
“Mas maganda ipa-try sa barangay officials para makatulong at buhayin ang ” Gulayan sa Barangay”, he said.
A few months ago, he discovered the new passion establishing his first hydroponics venture.
He started lettuce farming using the new technology in the rooftop of a building in Caloocan City.
