The Provincial Health Office here last Sunday, October 18 reported 3 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, the lowest number of new cases since the outbreak hit Bataan. New infections slowed down last week, averaging to less than 20 cases per day for the period October 12 to 18 compared to the over 100 daily average in September.

To date, the total case count in the province is 2,621 of which 214 are active cases, 109 tested negatives, 267 are still waiting for their test results, and 50 deaths while the recovery rate increased at 2,357. Since January 31, the total number of people tested has reached 25,743.

The collaboration of the Provincial Government of Bataan led by Governor Albert S. Garcia, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) officials, and local government units in the implementation of the measures and initiatives against the spread of COVID-19 have attributed to the slowdown in case growth.
