CAMP TOLENTINO – The Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Monday received a Silver Eagle Award, the second highest award from Camp Olivas for garnering a high score during the initiation stage of PNP’s Performance Government System (PGS).
Bataan police director Senior Supt. Rhodel Sermonia said the efficient performance of the provincial police office is manifested in the large-scale anti-drug operations that led to the neutralization of organized crime groups and drug pushers in the province.
PGS, which is aimed at reforming the PNP to address organizational dysfunctions, has four stages that include initiation, compliance, proficiency and institutionalization.
The Regional Police Strategy Management Unit (RPSMU) of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) gave high ratings for the BPPO performance.
The PNP raters include members of the community that include the academe, NGOs, media, pastoral council and other force multipliers.
Former Pilar town mayor and general manager of the Metro Bataan Development Authority Charlie Pizarro, who heads the provincial advisory council, joined the deliberation in Camp Olivas.
Dir. Rodolfo Santos Jr., Regional Director of the National Police Commission (Napolcom) Region 3 formally gave the award to Senior Supt. Sermonia at the formal rites in Camp Olivas and witnessed by PRO3 officials led by Central Luzon Police Director, Chief Supt. Rudy Lacadin.
