During the Annual General Assembly of Project Support Officers (North Luzon) to report their accomplishments for the year 2019, Bataan got not just one but two major awards from the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).
Bataan received a plaque of recognition for being the Top Performing Province in North Luzon in terms of cumulative financial progress under the I-REAP component. The other award is for the outstanding I-BUILD subproject implementation for farm to market road (FMR) in North Luzon – the San Antonio-Parang-Saysain, Bagac FMR ; a World Bank-PRDP assisted project.
Engr. Butch Baluyot, PPDO Head and Engr. Johanna Dizon, OIC, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist received the awards last night, January 30 at Xenia Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.
Members of the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Units (PPMIU) in North Luzon, composed of Regions 1, 2, 3 and CAR who take major roles in the implementation of PRDP projects were likewise recognized during the event.
The PRDP is a 6-year World Bank assisted national project under the Department of Agriculture for the purpose of establishing a modern, inclusive, value chain oriented and climate smart agriculture and fisheries sector. Under its four major components, I-Plan; I-Build, I-Reap; and I-Support, it provides key infrastructure, facilities, technology and information to raise incomes, productivity and competitiveness in targeted areas in partnership with local government units (LGUs) and the private sector. The Bataan PPMIU is headed by Engr. Butch Baluyot.
