The Municipality of Hermosa has been recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III as one of the local government units that achieved “Ideal Functionality” in the Fiscal Year 2026 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment, highlighting the town’s commitment to promoting and safeguarding children’s welfare.
The recognition places Hermosa among the top-performing LGUs in Central Luzon that have demonstrated effective programs, policies, and mechanisms aimed at protecting the rights and well-being of children.
Local officials said the achievement reflects the municipality’s continuing efforts to create a safe and nurturing environment for young residents.
Joining Hermosa in receiving the Ideal Functionality rating are the Provincial Government of Bataan and the municipalities and city of Balanga, Abucay, Bagac, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, Morong, Orani, Orion, Pilar, and Samal, underscoring the province’s strong collective commitment to child protection.
The LCPC Functionality Assessment is conducted annually by the DILG to evaluate how local governments implement child-focused programs, enforce policies, and coordinate services that promote children’s rights, development, and protection.
An “Ideal Functionality” rating is the highest level of recognition under the assessment, signifying that an LGU has fully complied with key standards and demonstrated excellence in carrying out its child welfare responsibilities.
Mayor Anne Adorable-Inton said the recognition serves not only as an achievement but also as an inspiration to further strengthen programs that empower and protect children, ensuring that every young resident has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a supportive community.
