Bataan sends a strong message to the world

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Highlighted during yesterday’s flag raising ceremony led by the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) were the mandate, programs, services and accomplishments of the said office headed by Mr. Vic Ubaldo.

Mr. Ubaldo also reiterated the province’s scheduled official attempt on June 24 to break Punjab, India’s Guinness World Record with the most number of trees planted in an hour in one place. Bataan is confident that it will achieve its target of 400,000 trees, considering the outpouring of support from both the public and private sectors.

With regards to the province’s official attempt on June 24 to break India’s current Guinness World Record, Governor Abet said that this is Bataan’s way of sending a strong message to the world that we are aiming for well rounded growth. As we strive to become the preferred location for eco industrial investments in the country, we also protect our environment.

The governor added that “we do not want to end up like other highly industrialized countries who are now suffering from air, water and solid waste pollution because they did not sustain a balance between economic growth and environmental protection”.

Exactly a week after the elections, on behalf of the other elected officials, Governor Abet S. Garcia expressed his gratitude for the fresh mandate that the Bataeños once again entrusted to them. He also appealed to everyone to set aside politics, differences and work together for the continued peace and order, harmony and economic growth of the province.

He also congratulated all the agencies who contributed their time, efforts and resources to ensure a peaceful and orderly elections; the PNP, PA, COMELEC, DepEd and the MBDA to name a few.
