BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Youth in the province are continuously participating in social programs and development trainings as Bataan eyes to hone them as worthy leaders in the near future.
During the Youth Congress held at Camp Tolentino, Provincial Social Welfare Development Office Head Marilyn Tigas challenged the youth to involve themselves in the community.
“Our role in the government is to prepare you for your future and the next generation,” she said to about 140 attendees.
Tigas stressed that the provincial government is molding the younger generation to be the next leaders of the community through empowerment programs and activities.
Bataan Provincial Youth Council (BPYC) has been organizing events which aim to incorporate social values and responsibilities for the youth.
In March this year, youth leaders from across the province engaged in leadership discussion, team building, and crafting of vision statements facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency.
Seminars on social development, values reorientation, health awareness and various orientations were also conducted by BPYC to give them a bigger role in the community.
Tigas assured that BPYC and other line agencies of the government will continue to work together in equipping the young constituents of the province with knowledge, skills, and experience to lead their generation.
“In order to maintain the legacy and sustainability of the efforts of the government, we are preparing you to be the next leaders of your generation,” Tigas furthered.
Likewise, Pag-asa Youth Associaition of the Philippines Bataan President Bryan Manabat vowed to help his fellow youth and the community by applying the things he learned from the said activities.
Manabat also expressed his gratitude towards the efforts of government agencies and organizations for their programs on the youth sector especially for the out-of-school youth.
“I am really thankful for programs of the government for us youth because it will really help us to be successful in the future,” the youth leader said.
