Bataan tourism office to launch novelty, innovative, quality festivals

Provincial Tourism Officer, Arch. Christina B. Banzon and Ms. Danica Lolita Tigas of the Bataan Tourism Office, Mr. Rudy De Mesa and Mr. Joseph Pagdanganan of the City of Balanga, Dr. Rolando Mina and Mr. Nasir Ocampo of the Municipality of Orani, Mr. Eriel Ibarra of the Municipality of Limay, Ms. Mariane De Leon of the Muncipality of Morong, Mr. Hector Lintag of the Municipality of Dinalupihan, Mr. Jhay Mondragon of the Municipality of Abucay, Mr. Arnel Batiles of SIKLAB and Ms. Juliet Blanas of the Bataan Peninsula State University composed the Bataan delegation.

Organized by the Department of Tourism Regional Office 3 in cooperation with the Pampanga Provincial Tourism Office as part of the tourism month celebration, the following shared their expertise in their respective fields: Mr. Nilo Agustin, Tourism Planning and Festival Management Consultant; Mr. Armando Santa Ana, City Tourism Officer of Bulacan and an Artistic Director; Mr. Nonoy Froilan, Principal Male Dancer and a Ballet Master; Rollie De Leon, Production Designer and Mr. Atong Del Rosario, Music Composer and Alumni of UP Madrigal.

Topics discussed were: The Roots of the Filipino Culture and their Significance in Filipino Festivals, Festival Planning and Management, Creative Production Management, Theater Arts and its Application in Festivals, Choreography and Dance Movements, The Rudiments of Production Design and Festival Music Composition.

The highlight of the workshop was the 10-minute presentation of the participants’ final outputs wherein they explained the iconic symbol and the concept of the festival and showcased the dance movements, music composition, props and costumes thru a festival dance. A critique of workshops and seminar evaluation followed.

In the end, each of the seven (7) participating provinces went home with a renewed confidence that they are ready to launch novelty, innovative and quality festival that will definitely boost the tourism industry in Central Luzon.
