MARIVELES, BATAAN — Bataan opened its 19th vaccination site yesterday, July 13, located inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) signaling the start of the vaccine roll-out for Priority Group A4 (essential workers) inside the freeport zone in this town.
Bataan Gov. Albert S. Garcia led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the 1Bataan FABakuna Center, together with representatives from the different government agencies and the private sector who helped make the establishment of the newest vaccination site possible.
Garcia encouraged everyone to do their part in the vaccination program, as the Provincial Government of Bataan aims to achieve herd-immunity before the year ends by opening more vaccination sites in the province.
He said, “Marami pa po tayong bubuksang vaccination facilities all across Mariveles, all across Bataan kaya sana po suportahan po natin ito dahil ang target po natin in the next two to three months ay full herd-immunity na po tayo.”
The ceremonial vaccination of two FAB essential workers followed right after the signing of the MOA.
Also present during the event were Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Administrator Engr.
Emmanuel Pineda, Mariveles Mayor Jocelyn Castaneda, Department of Health (DOH) Development Management Officer Dr. Maria Belina Ebasco, Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital (MMWGH) Chief of Hospital Dr. Maria Lourdes Evangelista, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, Mariveles District Hospital (MDH) Chief of Hospital Dr. Hector Santos, and Mr. Roberto Umali of Camaya Coast.
According to Engr. Emmanuel Pineda, 1Bataan FABakuna Center will eventually cater not just to FAB essential workers but also to their families and other eligible Bataenos residing outside of the Municipality of Mariveles.
