The event was organized by the “Communicators’ League” of the host school. Based on information gathered from their Facebook page, the theme of the first ever Central Luzon COMMvention is: “LEVIOSA: Magic and Beyond.” This event aims to promote camaraderie among the Communication Arts students in the region. Also, it aspires to showcase the skills and talents of the students through various competitions they can join prepared by the organization and use this opportunity to collaborate and work with one another.
Bataan ABCOMM students dominated the Minor awards category like the News Writing (APCAS – Second Runner Up, Letran-Bataan – Champion), Feature Writing (BPSU-Main – Second Runner Up, Letran-Bataan – Champion), and Editorial writing (BPSU-Main – Second Runner Up, Letran-Bataan – First Runner Up). And also the Major awards like Photography category (Letran-Bataan – Second Runner Up, APCAS – First Runner Up), and the Audio Visual Presentation – Public Service Announcement Category (Letran-Bataan – Second Runner Up, BPSU-Main – Champion). Based on the Over All results, Letran-Bataan is the Second Runner Up Over All Champion, while the BPSU – Main are the First Runner Up Over All Champion.
“To be honest this really feels like a big achievement for us at BPSU, especially because we are the pioneers of BA COMM. As the first batch, we aim to take little steps into helping other people recognize our program and promote it, and by winning in the COMMvention, we believe we have taken bigger steps and we have climbed higher.” Said by Ms. Laurice Anne Zapanta, President of the ABCOMM Association of BPSU – Main. “I am happy for an event full of competition, camaraderie and knowledge. We get to know more of our fields through the three speakers which were made available by Holy Angel University. I hope we cultivate more of oneness in Central Luzon. It is prouder to know that not only Letran Bataan excel in events like this but also, Bataan Peninsula State University and Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies.” Said by Ms. Maria Vinnise Marcelo, President of the Multimedia Society of Letran-Bataan.
