CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan – A cool cash reward of P400, 000.00 is awaiting every “Best COPS” (Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service).
This was announced by Metro Bank Foundation President Aniceto “Chito” Sobrepena, when he was guest of honor during last week’s ” Araw ng Parangal” inside the Bataan PNP provincial headquarters.
Also guests during the occasion were Gov Abet S. Garcia, Chief Supt. Ronald V. Santos, PNP Region 3 Director; Mayor Jorge Estanislao of Morong town, among others.
Sobrepena said that over the last 12 years, the “search for COPS has evolved to be the premier award in recognizing the noble role and contribution of the PNP initiated by the private sector.”
Citing the fearlessness and bravery of the 44 SAF commandos who died in action in Maguindanao last January, Sobrepena said the sacrifices of the police in the performance of their duty as protectors of the people should not be forgotten.
He also cited the Bataan PNP and the community’s role in crime solution and prevention as what General Santos and Sr. Supt. Rhodel Sermonia, Bataan PNP director, said in tapping the help of the civilians to maintain an atmosphere of peace in the communities.
“Looking at this paradigm, the Metro Bank has a mission to empower the key pillars in our society through a recognition program to honor champions of community policing. And the search for COPS was conceptualized to recognize the dedication, sacrifices, gallantry and professionalism of the PNP,” pointed out Sobrepena.
Metro Bank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila East and PS bank conduct the yearly search for COPS as their way to support the PNP’s mission and vision, added Sobrepena.
