In compliance to Governor Abet Garcia’s order to intensify our battle against the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in our province, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) started to conduct misting disinfection in public places last March 18, 2020, in the City of Balanga and will continue every day until such time that this pandemic is controlled.

One of the most effective ways to fight the spread of COVID-19 is to disinfect frequently touched surfaces and to ensure that all places have undergone misting disinfection, which sanitizes both air and surfaces by spraying chlorine-and-water mixtures from firetrucks, using hose and misting machines.

Areas covered in the misting operation last Wednesday were outside the Isaac Catalina Medical Center and Bataan St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center; while yesterday were Puregold, Ocampos, Balanga Talisay Crossing, Vistamall, Center Plaza Mall, Plaza Hotel, VETAFs, and Robinsons Galleria.

It took the BFP only 2 to 5 minutes to conduct the misting operation in every target area.
