BPSU @ 11: “Traversing a Culture of Innovation”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), a university once dreamt by the late former BPSU President Delfin O. Magpantay, now tracks the road toward its vision as it celebrates its 11th Conversion Anniversary this week, March 20-23.

Showing off solidarity and oneness, the six BPSU satellite campuses namely Main Campus, Balanga Campus, Dinalupihan Campus, Orani Campus, Abucay Campus, and Bagac Campus, converged in ‘Rock N’ Walk’ Parade on Tuesday to officially open the celebration in commemoration of BPSU’s conversion into a university in year 2007 from its previous name Bataan Polytechnic State College from 1998 to 2006.

As part of its opening ceremonies, Peninsulares held a motorcade bound to agricultural campus of Abucay where Agri-Expo, and Farm tour and exhibits awaited.

Meanwhile, the following are the major events in the said celebration:

Main Campus

Coinciding with the founding anniversary is the Student Rights and Welfare Day that will be held at the library Audio Visual Room. The Main Campus will also hold Kabataan Fair and ‘Greeneration Y’ seminar at its covered court, and several competitions such as Essay Writing, Laro ng Lahi, Amazing Race, Mr. & Ms. CEA Instructor, Inter-Department Math Quiz.

Balanga Campus

“Sayawan, Musikahan, Basaan” and Neon colored blast foam party will highlight the festivity in Balanga Campus at its grounds. They will also be transpiring Psychology Night at the Academic Bldg. 1 rooftop.

Dinalupihan Campus

This school for education will focus on seminars to uplift and improve oneself, such as the Love Struck Seminar sponsored by the Campus Life Chi Alpha club, and the Guidance “Self-Awareness” seminar. They will also hold the COED (College of Education) Festival, Peninsulares Music Ensemble concert, and many other shows.

Bagac Campus

This campus sticks to being purposeful with their one-day outreach activities such as feeding program, gardening, landscaping, and housekeeping.

Orani Campus

This sports campus will organize “Takbo Para sa Pagbabago” fun run, Zumbahan sa OC, Amazing Race, and the second edition of Larong Pinoy Tatak Peninsulares. Moreover, they will hold a Techno Entrepreneurial Road Show at the campus canteen.

Abucay Campus

Farmer’s Week is also celebrated in this agricultural campus where Farmer’s Forum in Mango Technology, Aerobic Rice Technology, and CFAR Project will be witnessed. They have exhibits of farm machineries and innovations, and a campus tour to their Mushroom Production area, Bamboo Park, and Hydroponics. Additionally, they launched their products such as the Nutri products and Vertical-fed Biomass Cook Stove.

This has just been one out of more decades to come to this university known for being the “Tahanan ng pantas at batang bayani.”
