BPSU – Hope Behind Bar team, Lingkod Bayan awardee

The Hope Behind Bar (HBB) project team composed of Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Director for Extension Services and Project Leader Dr. Bernadeth Gabor, together with Dr. Joanne Lobrino, Assistant Professor Nomer Varua, and John Robert Garcia were accorded Presidential Lingkod Bayad Award (Group Category). The awarding ceremonies led by Civil Service Commission Region 3 Director Fernando Mendoza and Provincial Director Edgardo Cruz was held recently at the BPSU main campus administration building.

BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia joined the ceremony as they lauded the HBB team for the exemplary achievement and bringing pride to the institution.

HBB is an in-prison skills development program through the University’s extension office that offers various technical-vocational courses to inmates.
The Lingkod Bayan Award is the highest and most coveted recognition given by the government to individuals or group of individuals who have excelled or shown utmost dedication and commitment to public service.
