CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Established by virtue of Republic Act 9403, and signed into law on 22nd of March 2007, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) is a conglomeration of fine leading higher education institutions in Bataan seeking to contribute to the national and regional development through providing excellent quality of services in instruction, research, production and extension.
In keeping with its mandate and guided by its vision of becoming a university of excellence acknowledged not only in the country but also in the Asia-Pacific Region, BPSU last Monday, August 1, 2016 inaugurated its newly constructed facilities in the Abucay Campus in the morning and at the Main Campus in the afternoon.
Governor Albert S. Garcia led the ceremonies together with BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis, 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman, Abucay Mayor Liberato Santiago, Abucay Campus Director Evelyn Tria, and other BPSU and local government officials.
Incidentally, the conversion of BPSU into a university is just one of the numerous landmark accomplishments of Gov. Abet during his term as Congressman of the 2nd District of Bataan.
Inaugurated at the Abucay Campus are the Animal Welfare Clinic, Animal Science Building and the Educational Technology Center.
At the Main Campus, the Science Building was further improved so as to be able to meet the requirement of higher education. The science laboratory for engineering was likewise upgraded to help achieve quality instruction and to produce highly qualified human resources.
The second floor of the old library had wooden flooring not to mention the fact that it was too small to accommodate the growing population in the main campus, hence the newly inaugurated E-Library and the PPES are good investments for the future professionals of Bataan. Likewise, the upgrading of the other two facilities will enable BPSU to accommodate changes in different technology for library needs and laboratory apparatus and equipment for the benefit of the students and faculty. Furthermore, both buildings were built in the ‘70s.
