Reyes said that they do not want to avail of a loan since their barangay can afford to fund the construction of their public market out of its income from realty taxes, business permits, among others, unlike most if not all LGUs who depend on loans from commercial banks to construct their infrastructure projects.

Lamao is a blessed barangay being host to multibillion peso Petron Bataan Refinery; the Petrochemical Plant, also investing billions of pesos for export products; Orica Philippines, a giant foreign explosives manufacturer; the DND arsenal which is the government’s biggest manufacturer of guns and bullets, among others not to mention its seaport which is also bringing revenues.

Lamao has probably one of the biggest barangay halls, equipped with air conditioned rooms and state of the art technology. It houses the offices for barangay tanod, health center, among others, making this barangay the envy of others.
