Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman has recently filed eight (8) new house bills that aim to provide protection and support for various sectors in the Philippines.

These bills cover a wide range of issues from worker protection to disaster preparedness.

One of the bills is the “Freelance Workers Protection Act”, which seeks to provide security and benefits for freelancers who often fall under the cracks of traditional labor laws.

This bill aims to create a framework that will protect the rights of freelance workers and ensure that they receive just compensation and benefits.

Another bill is the “Bangon Turismo Act of 2023”, which seeks to promote and support the recovery of the tourism industry in the Philippines, which has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This bill proposes various measures to attract tourists and improve the tourism infrastructure in the country.

The “News and Media Workers Act of 2023” aims to protect journalists and other media workers from harassment and intimidation, and provide them with legal support and other benefits.

Another House Bill filed by Roman is the “Filipino Migrant Workers Welfare Act of 2023” which aims to provide better protection and support for Filipino workers who are working abroad.

This bill seeks to address the issues that overseas Filipino workers face such as exploitation, human trafficking, and abuse.

The “Kaluwagan Sa Kalamidad Act” seeks to improve disaster preparedness in the country by ensuring that communities have the necessary resources and infrastructure to cope with natural calamities.

The “Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers” aims to provide better working conditions and benefits for Filipino seafarers who play a crucial role in the global shipping industry.

The “Creative Industries Investment Plan Act of 2023” aims to promote the growth of the creative industries in the Philippines by providing financial support and incentives for artists and creatives.

Lastly, the “Enterprise Productivity Act” aims to promote the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing them with better access to financing and technical support.

These bills demonstrate Representative Roman’s commitment to improving the lives of Filipinos and addressing the various issues that affect different sectors of Philippine society.
