Chinese cruise ship to dock in Subic

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Zhoushan International Cruise Port (ZICP) China’s fifth city to open an international cruise port after Shanghai, Tianjin, Xiamen and Sanya, plans to dock at the Subic Bay which is now an emerging cruise ship destination in the Southeast Asia.

Subic Bay Freeport Authority Chairman and Administrator Wilma T. Eisma said that the ZICP targets more than 200 International cruises every year and they are now looking at Subic as their next target.

The link between Źhoushan and Subic, Chairman Eisma said, will be mutually beneficial to other areas and has the potential to serve as a jump-off point for other destinations in the region particularly Bataan and Zambales which are adjacent to Subic and are rich in tourist attractions and historical heritage.

At least, 20 cruise ship arrivals have been calendared in Subic for this year Eisma added, while bookings have been made for 2019 and 2020 which include three arrivals each for the months of June, July and August of this year.
